Increase safety and productivity and minimize downtime: learn to manage the reliability and availability of control and security systems.

In the Netherlands, the reliable functioning of flood defenses, tunnels, bridges, locks, pumping stations, and train safety systems is essential for a safe, livable, and functional society. The reliability, safety, and availability of control and safety systems are crucial components of this. But how do you build, assess, and optimize these systems to ensure (and continue to guarantee) safety, availability, and reliability? And how do you demonstrate this to customers and regulators? You'll learn all this and more in our 3-day RAMS for Industrial Automation course.

What will you learn?

Want to take your knowledge of demonstrably reliable Industrial Automation to the next level? Then our RAMS for Industrial Automation course is an absolute must! During this 3-day course, you'll learn everything about reliability, availability, and safety in this field, both during construction and maintenance.

You will learn, among other things:

  • How to specify performance requirements for a system. We'll delve deeper into software failure modes, software quality, and how external factors (including cybersecurity) and interactions with the physical environment influence this. We'll also examine the role of the Machinery Directive
  • How to properly organize the design, development, and testing process to meet performance requirements. We delve into the role of the IEC61508 family of standards;
  • How to ensure these performance requirements are met throughout the design and construction process and how to evaluate design choices for their impact on system reliability and operational safety. For example, we'll delve deeper into the role of redundancy and fail-to-safe behavior
  • How to demonstrate compliance with performance requirements during testing. How to structure the master test plan and delivery documentation accordingly. We also delve into the role of TOPAAS as a measurement tool
  • How to maintain high performance in the operational use of a system, focusing on monitoring, updates, system changes, object modifications, and object aging.

In short, during this course, you'll learn everything you need to know to safeguard, assess, and optimize the performance of Industrial Automation. You'll develop skills to design and manage system complexity, allowing you to increase system reliability and minimize downtime.
